Coinbase Monthly Outlook: Rate Cut Does Not Signal Peak Market, Altseason Poised to Fully Arrive
BlockBeats News, August 15th. Coinbase released its monthly outlook, stating that the Altseason is approaching. Although Coinbase's view of Altseason has changed, its outlook for the third quarter of 2025 remains optimistic. With September approaching, the current market conditions may indicate the imminent arrival of Altcoin Season. The common definition of Altcoin Season is that at least 75% of the top 50 altcoins by market cap have outperformed BTC in the past 90 days.
Many have debated whether the Fed's rate cut in September signifies a local top for the cryptocurrency market. Coinbase believes this is not the case. Given that a significant amount of retail capital is on the sidelines in money market funds (over $7 trillion) and other areas, the Fed's loose policy may unlock more retail participation potential in the medium term.
